SETTING THE FIRE Before shovelling the remains of last night's fire into a paper bag I remove the fireplace fret, setting it to one side.  The shovel scrapes against cinder block, a sound to set the teeth on edge were it not so familiar; fine mustard-coloured ash churning with once-proud and energetic coals – now no more than porous charcoal pebbles.  Naked flames played lambent along their shining edges, prying their way between nuggets while I tinkered with the poker – looking for trouble, my father would say, for a man playing with fire will surely be burnt by it. 'The landscape strikes the notion of him…' The landscape strikes the notion of him, a hand that draws its fingers into a fist   where headlands and coves breathe him in. Waves unfurl their broken worlds, clouds' lost scrolls obscure this lonely man who clings to a cliff; who craves a return to the nest of himself from which he crept.  Wind sings   of a cliff-top within arm's reach but legs rebel against the brain beating frantic wings to soar above spear-head rocks: it begs him, a body crumpled in heather, to be free of memory in the glare of the sun, dregs of his ego drift as puffs of steam to sea – I am clich&#233

We may start late but we needn't be last. This window's reflection frames a sunbeam as it sneaks past The Odd Couple poster stuck to the theatre's mahogany doors where a warm breeze sweeps blossom into a gold and pink whirlpool on the linoleum floor. ROUNDABOUT It happens when approaching roundabouts' whirr of signs I

It is great that you made an account, and I am glad to be your first watcher. ^^ I am looking forward to seeing some of your works you post.
And thank you for visiting my page! ♥
Thanks very much, Gaea, sorry for the delay in replying - I find myself falling occasionally between a number of different stools! LOL FB still occupies most of my time but I'm on MySpace and a Ning network too - this is the first time I've been on DA since I visited your page and set up my own.

Speaking of your page, you've posted a fine body of work here, with many absolutely amazing images across the different disciplines.

I'm afraid I've never made anything much of my own photography - it's always been more of a hobby along with DIY and woodwork, just to take me away from working with words on a page all the time. Which is what I'll be posting more of here and more often, hopefully!

Thanks again for your best wishes and interest :-)
